Former Christian Said, "I'm Happy"

During RUF, the leader was contrasting idols with the One True God that can satisfy, and told us about someone he once knew to be very active in RUF. By all appearances the person was "on fire for the Lord", since he was very active in RUF. However, his true colors came out eventually: he ended up casting off all restraints, quiting RUF, and ended up going from one relationship to the next. According to him, the Bible, and not even God, had any control over his life. God had been "restraining" him for too long, and he had enough. The man ended up trading the one God that can satisfy for the idol of promiscuity. Years later, the RUF leader ran into the man, and he was still far from God. After being asked how he was, the man replied, "I'm happy", but he is only trying to fool himself. What a sad testimony of a person that once "served the Lord"! May the Lord open his eyes to the futility of his life!
I have to ask, what do you do when you encounter someone like that? I would pray first that God would grant them repentenance. I would share them the gospel of Christ, and point out their sin of idolatry. What would you do?
